Franklin Park, IL Job Summary A global manufacturing leader is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for its heavy industrial fabrication facility. This role is 100% shop-floor based. You will conduct rigorous mechanical, electrical, and visual inspections throughout the entire assembly process. Your expertise will ensure all custom-engineered systems meet strict safety, structural, and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities Inspection and Testing:

Conduct 100% floor-based quality inspections across all phases of custom fabrication. Perform critical mechanical and electrical checks on raw materials, sub-assemblies, and final builds. Execute precise hydrostatic pressure testing, weld inspections, and component verifications. Deliver definitive final inspections before products clear the floor for shipment.

Precision Measurement and Documentation:

Utilize micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and pressure gauges daily. Work fluidly across multiple units of measure, including metrics, pounds, and temperatures. Document inspection findings and maintain thorough quality assurance logs.

Blueprint and Specification Analysis:

Read, interpret, and cross-reference complex mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics. Verify physical assemblies perfectly match geometric dimensions and engineering tolerances.

Qualifications and Skills Required Experience:

Experience:

Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated Quality Control Inspector experience.

Tool Proficiency:

Mastery of precision tools including calipers, micrometers, and pressure gauges.

Technical Literacy:

Advanced capability in reading and interpreting structural blueprints.

Preferred Skills:

Industry:

Experience in the industrial metals, pressure vessel, or boiler manufacturing industry.

Welding Knowledge:

Basic understanding of industrial welding techniques and weld quality standards.

Work Environment:

Setting:

Clean, organized, custom job shop environment equipped with overhead cranes and welding stations.

Conditions:

100% active shop floor role. Must be comfortable working in seasonal summer heat.
