Job Description

Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description This role focuses on inspecting medical products at various stages of the production and assembly process to ensure they meet customer specifications and strict quality standards. The Quality Inspector performs visual, dimensional, and functional inspections, verifies documentation and labeling, and supports ongoing quality assurance activities in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.

6:45 PM•7:00 AM (2-2-3 rotating days)
Pay:
$22.00•24.00 per hour Responsibilities Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of raw materials, injection molded parts, assemblies, and final products during production and assembly. Conduct label verifications to confirm compliance with quality plan requirements and verify packaging and labeling quality and integrity. Verify and complete process documentation, including cycle checklists, process startup records, label verification, and line clearance documentation. Identify, contain, document, and clearly label nonconforming products in accordance with established procedures. Use a wide variety of test instruments, precision measuring devices, and electronic equipment to ensure parts and products meet established specifications. Work from written and verbal instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, statistical processes, and other control procedures to perform inspections accurately. Select products for inspection at specified stages of the production process and perform visual inspections for defects such as splay, contamination, gross flash, non-fills, short shots, color variation, voids, and grease or oil. Review device history records (DHR) for completeness and accuracy, ensuring all required documentation is properly recorded. Identify workmanship and material defects, determine product acceptability, and recommend disposition of defective items in line with established procedures, escalating only exception cases as needed. Record all startup and in-process inspection results accurately and maintain clear verbal and written communication with inspectors, operators, molding technicians, material handlers, and supervisors to support product quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality inspectors, quality engineers, and production personnel, and promptly notify appropriate plant employees when technical support is required. Perform bar code transactions using the healthcare-focused ERP system to document inspections and material movements. Conduct, document, and report on process audits of assembly and molding processes. Handle requests such as process capability studies, first article inspections, protocols, validations, and special inspections, including collecting and sorting product sample requests as needed. Essential Skills Experience performing visual, dimensional, and functional inspections in a manufacturing or quality control environment. Ability to use test instruments, precision measuring devices, and electronic equipment such as calipers and other measurement tools. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, procedures, and other technical documentation. Strong computer skills, including the ability to document activities within an ERP system. Basic math skills, including addition, multiplication, and calculating averages. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds safely as part of routine duties. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and nonconformances in products and documentation. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with inspectors, operators, technicians, material handlers, and supervisors. Ability to follow established quality procedures and work instructions consistently. High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a cleanroom environment. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Exposure to medical device or healthcare-related manufacturing environments. Experience conducting process audits, capability studies, and first article inspections. Experience working with device history records (DHR) and document control processes. Experience in quality control, quality inspection, or quality assurance roles. Why Work Here? You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams on the manufacturing floor, using precision measuring tools, test instruments, electronic equipment, and an ERP system to document inspections and transactions. The role follows a 12-hour shift schedule, with a day shift from 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM and a night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM. The environment emphasizes strict process control, accurate documentation, and consistent communication to maintain high product quality standards.
