GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Quality Assurance Inspector performs routine visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, work in process, and finished products. This position documents inspection results, identifies nonconforming product, and communicates quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections of wire weldments and metal fabrication assemblies.
• Verify products meet drawings, specifications, work instructions, samples, and customer requirements.
• Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, weld gauges, tape measures, and other basic inspection tools.
• Complete inspection records and other required quality documentation accurately and on time.
• Identify, label, separate, and report nonconforming material or product.
• Conduct routine floor inspections and communicate quality concerns to production and Quality leadership.
• Assist with sorting, containment, reinspection, and final inspection activities as directed.
• Handle measuring equipment properly and report damaged, missing, or out-of-calibration equipment.
• Maintain an organized work area and accurate quality records.
• Follow company safety rules, policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing, inspection, welding, metal fabrication, or quality experience preferred.
• Basic experience reading blueprints, drawings, or work instructions preferred.
• Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Office experience preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to read basic drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements.
• Ability to use or learn basic measuring and inspection tools.
• Ability to document results clearly and report problems promptly.
• Ability to work independently and cooperatively with production employees and supervisors.
• Basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and measurements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and inspect products in production and warehouse areas.
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to see small details and use measuring tools accurately.
• Ability to work around noise, moving equipment, temperature changes, and required personal protective equipment.

Pay:

Up to $24.00 per hour
