OVERVIEW
Marathon Petroleum Company's Illinois Refining Division in Robinson, IL is seeking a part-time Laboratory Helper . The Laboratory Helper will report to the Laboratory Supervisor and cleans bottles/glassware, stocks vestibules, helps with samples rounds and various tasks to support the Laboratory and Refinery production in making quality products in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. Position is part-time, and schedule consists of 30-34 hours per week. Relocation is not approved for this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Wash and maintain inventory of bottles, glassware, caps, jugs, pipettes, etc. to support department needs. Ensure required testing materials are available and prepared for timely application. Retrieve samples from refinery units and drop off sample coolers at scheduled times. Maintain clean work area, ensuring cleaning materials and laboratory accessories are properly stored in assigned areas. Communicate with techs as necessary to convey any pertinent information regarding bottle needs, the condition of the room or equipment. Capable of learning SAP to support Laboratory stockroom as needed. Maintain a positive, confident attitude that leads by example and embraces every opportunity to learn.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum (Required) Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license required. Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience within industrial or medical lab setting preferred.

Sample collection and material handling responsibilities of the role requires ability to lift 20 lbs.
