Job Description:
Job Description Job description: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and programming CMM equipment to inspect precision metal components including jacks, spindles, hubs, and manifolds. This role ensures that all parts meet strict quality standards and customer specifications.Essential Functions:
- Operate CMM equipment to inspect and measure metal components for dimensional accuracy.
- Program CMM machines using software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of measurements and deviations.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
- Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment and ensure proper functioning of CMM machines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality and manufacturing processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
- Strong understanding of GD&T and mechanical inspection techniques.
- Experience working with metal components and precision machining.
Physical Demands:
- Manufacturing floor environment with exposure to machinery and metalworking processes.
- May require standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
