Job Title:
Quality Assurance Inspector Job Description The Quality Assurance Inspector supports both receipt inspection and production inspection activities to ensure that all incoming materials and finished products meet regulatory and internal quality standards. This role focuses on sampling and inspecting packaging and chemical raw materials, issuing and reviewing batch records, monitoring production quality, and maintaining accurate documentation. The inspector serves as a key liaison between Production and Quality, helping to safeguard product integrity and compliance throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities Sample and inspect incoming packaging and chemical raw materials for conformance to regulatory and internal standards. Evaluate each receipt for compliance with purchase order requirements. Verify the integrity of shipping containers and confirm that all containers are properly labeled. Perform sampling of receipts based on established statistical sampling plans. Inspect sampled items using visual evaluations and measurement devices such as scales, rulers, micrometers, and calipers. Document all inspection and sampling activities accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain organized files of receipt inspection results and vendor performance reports. Perform computer transactions according to Quality Systems receipt inspection processes. Assist in the development and maintenance of item specifications and master data files. Coordinate with the Purchasing Department to establish and maintain quality standards with suppliers. Read, review, and compare documents and follow established procedures for all quality activities. Monitor line clearance functions to ensure production lines are properly cleared and set up. Issue production paperwork and labels required for manufacturing and packaging operations. Draw and maintain records of samples from production lines for testing, retention, stability, and other required purposes. Act as a liaison between the Production and Quality departments to resolve quality issues and support smooth operations. Perform yearly monitoring of retain samples to verify ongoing product quality. Examine filling and packaging labeling prior to the start of filling operations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Apply a solid understanding of batch documentation requirements and all associated production and compliance steps. Review and verify compliance steps associated with the production of regulated products, including line clearances, filling and packaging labeling, and production sampling requirements. Quarantine filling and packaging materials brought to production lines if they do not conform to standard specifications, artwork, or are found defective. Quarantine finished products that are found defective due to labeling issues, weight deficiencies, coding errors, or other nonconformances. Prepare and apply reject labels or stickers for nonconforming filling and packaging materials from production lines when required. Assist Quality Assurance leadership with the internal auditing program. Support the preparation and review of Annual Product Reviews (APR). Organize and maintain retain samples and ensure proper control within the retain room. Perform additional quality assurance duties and responsibilities as assigned by Quality Assurance leadership. Qualifications High School Diploma Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Quality Assurance environment, preferably in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical industry. Work Environment The role is primarily based in a quality office environment Approximately 80-90% of time spent in the office performing documentation, system transactions, and review activities. The remaining 10-20% of time is spent on the production floor conducting inspections, sampling, line clearances, and interactions with production personnel.
Second Shift:
Monday-Friday Typically from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., providing steady hours with minimal overtime. Initial training occurs on the first shift, generally from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for approximately two weeks.
Pay:
$20-23/hr Fully Onsite - Located Near the Villa Park Illinois Area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Villa Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
