Job Requirements Crane, IN Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Job Description Kratos is currently seeking an Electrical Technician in Crane, Indiana. This role is responsible for practical understanding of the required system(s) as well as providing technical support as needed. Assist lead technician(s) and engineer(s) as needed. Activities may include but are not limited to: building and setting up electrical test equipment, preparing and conducting qualification and acceptance tests, performing system integration and testing, and operating support equipment during launch operations. Must also be able to read wiring schematic diagrams, assemble cabling, and integrate electronic/mechanical components into space flight vehicles. May require up to 40% travel to support launch operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
PRIMARY - Assembles electrical systems and electrical harnessing for suborbital launch vehicles under the direction of senior technical staff. Tests and operates electrical systems and harnessing for suborbital launch vehicles under the direction of senior technical staff. Generates test plans, documents test results and creates post-test reports. Reviews requirements, configuration documents and wiring schematics to ascertain appropriate test specifications, test equipment, procedures, and objectives. Assesses problems encountered during testing and rapidly formulates, communicates and executes solutions. Executes launch field assembly and checkout of subsystems prior to final vehicle assembly. Assists in vehicle loading and support equipment hook-up. Supports countdown operations by arming electrical systems and operating ground support equipment. Must be able to work in a team environment and also independently as needed.
SECONDARY
- Generates wiring schematics and interface control documents (ICDs) for integration of launch vehicle systems. Experience and Skills
JOB SKILLS
Required - Knowledge of
MIL SPEC
Cable fabrication. Knowledge of power design/power electronics Hands-on experience and basic knowledge of electrical cabling Excellent written and oral communication skills Obtain and maintain certifications required for job functions. (Solder, Cable, Crimp & Harness, etc.) Valid drivers' license Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. Preferred - Military communications or electronics experience or training
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Two years of post high school education with a focus on electronics, mathematics or other engineering related courses Four years of practical experience in electronics assembly and/or operation Can substitute education for 2 additional years practical experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and work in elevated areas such as ladders or platforms while performing job duties. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hardhats, gloves and steel-toed shoes will be worn during all hazardous activities such as equipment lifting and vehicle loading operations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must be able to work independently as needed but most work is done in a team environment working alongside other contractors.
