POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Technician supports Riverside MFG's quality assurance program across production and supplier-facing activities, performing inspections, audits, and documentation that verify materials and products meet specifications. This role partners with Production, Purchasing, and suppliers to resolve nonconformances, drive corrective actions, and maintain the quality metrics and audit schedule that keep manufacturing operations compliant and running efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Quality Inspection & Testing Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections, including First Article Inspections and product audits, to verify conformance to specifications Read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiently use standard measuring and inspection tools Conduct general inspection and sorting of materials, and perform ad hoc quality monitoring by moving throughout assembly lines to observe daily operations Supplier & Purchasing Support Support Riverside's Purchasing Group and communicate directly with Riverside suppliers on quality issues Own the Vendor Return Material Authorization (VRMA) process from initiation through resolution Communicate material specification questions and quality concerns in a timely manner to the Purchasing Manager and buyers Corrective Action & Process Improvement Assist product teams in responding to internal and customer corrective action requests Recommend process improvements and other enhancements to increase operating efficiency Analyze product and material specifications and requirements to support root cause identification Documentation, Metrics & Compliance Serve as internal audit administrator and maintain the internal audit schedule Post weekly quality metrics in manufacturing cells and reconcile production scrap in the ERP system Keep the non-conforming materials area clean and organized by participating in 5S activities
QUALIFICATIONS
Required High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiently use standard measuring and inspection tools Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with managers, cell leads, buyers, and suppliers Basic computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Must be a U.S. Person, in accordance with company export control (ITAR/EAR) compliance requirements Preferred Previous experience within a Quality department Working knowledge of SPC (statistical process control) and measurement methods Analytical reasoning skills in root cause and corrective action identification
