Job Description
Quality Technician -
Fort Wayne, IN Essential Duties:
Documents and complete all internal and external requests for Corrective Action as well as all nonconforming materials reports. Investigates and documents root-cause analysis and initiates and completes long-term actions. Controls the non-conforming area to ensure that all non-conforming products are adequately reviewed for possible rework or scrap. Ensures no product is allowed to continue in the production process unless adequately tested to meet all customer requirements. Acts as the Element Champion for ISO Generates weekly reports detailing current nonconformances and all external issues. Coordinates problem-solving efforts to ensure that all aspects of any problem are reviewed and acted upon to conform to the quality system plan. Interacts with customers to ascertain problems and complaints with the objective of resolving these problems and complaints using team-oriented problem-solving techniques. Trains workers in the inspection and testing procedures necessary to ensure the quality of the operations being performed. Interacts among all departments to ensure that they know and understand the Quality System Plan. Trains department co-workers in proper root-cause analysis for cross-functional team development. Performs all sampling and part approval inspection necessary to meet customer requirements.Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years part inspection experience with knowledge of blueprint reading and use of equipment.
- Experience with Quality System procedures is needed, along with experience in 8-d corrective actions, root-cause analysis and mistake-proofing is preferred.
