For over 50 years, Vivolac Cultures Corporation has prided itself on partnering with our customers to help create innovative food culture systems that meet their production needs. We research specific bacterial strains and combine them to create custom and standard cultures to be used in the manufacture of fermented products and probiotics. Role Overview:
You will be responsible for testing incoming samples in our Quality Control (QC) department as part of a team. In addition to these responsibilities, you may be required to perform any additional requests made by your manager. Responsibilities
  • Perform accurate, same-day testing on any incoming samples or rechecks and maintain records
  • Perform all testing in accordance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and other qualifications
  • Read plates, calculate and enter results
  • Schedule, set up and inoculate small scale milk activities for daytime and overnight tests
  • Perform quality checks (temperature, equipment calibration/verification, etc.)
  • Perform and document Master Sanitation duties on a weekly basis
  • Restock lab as needed
  • Prepare media as needed
  • Assist other technicians and fulfill any additional requests by manager as needed
  • Maintain proficiency in all positions within quality control and testing Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma with an interest in science
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in life science is valued but not required
  • Experience in a laboratory setting is valued but not required as training is provided for all lab skill levels
  • Mastered aseptic technique is valued but not required
  • Ability to act as a strong independent and key team player
  • Strong attention to detail, data entry, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong ability to multitask in order to address different projects congruently
  • Must exhibit professionalism
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
Expected Scheduling:
Weekdays, 8am to 4:30pm
