Basic qualifications are:
Must be 18 years old
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent and/or A.S/B.S in Quality, Engineering or Business
Must be authorized to work in the US
Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering & Quality Control
Knowledge of Quality Control, Quality Auditing, manufacturing processes and equipment, statistical process control, ISO and AS specification requirements, Metallurgy/Metals Manufacturing, Aerospace quality systems/standards i.e. GE, Nadcap, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, FAI, FMEA Manufacturing processes, Quality Control, Quality Auditing, and/or clerical
Available to work any shift, weekends, holidays and overtime as required
Willing to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including all PPE requirements
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
Essential job functions are:
Have an understanding of the Haynes Quality System and LaPorte Custom Metal Processing requirements, the basic ISO, NADCAP, and AS requirements, and basic product and process flows to enable daily support of our quality objectives
Perform internal audits as directed by the lead auditor
Work as directed on customer return samples for investigation of root cause of the defects
Assist as directed on external and customer audits
Work to ensure NCRs have adequate resolution and provide follow-up as directed
Utilize internal procedures and systems to monitor processes for off quality trends and initiate corrective actions
Provide the Quality Engineering department with support as necessary to meet Quality System requirements involved with special quality, customer samples, customer special requests, and customer audits/plant tours
Initiate NCM's on nonconforming material
Effectively monitor, document, and report status, activity, and progress in area of responsibility
Provide required input into the monthly report in a timely manner
Participate on assigned Quality Assurance & Quality Engineering projects to insure yearly commitments are met.
Physical Demands:
May be required to stand for long periods of time
May involve some repetitive motions
May also engage in frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
Requirements:
Understand and follow basic verbal and written instructions
Possess basic mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Perform basic visual quality inspections on products
Utilize power tools and various equipment as needed to perform duties
Must be certified or become certified in operation of forklifts and overhead cranes
