Manufacturing plant and quality lab Join a Team Focused on Quality, Precision, and Continuous Improvement A manufacturing employer in Lafayette, IN is seeking a skilled and detail-driven Quality Technician to support product testing, process audits, material review, equipment calibration, and plant quality objectives. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the importance of accuracy, documentation, safety, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment. The right candidate will be comfortable working in a lab and production setting, communicating with multiple departments, and helping ensure products meet required standards. Position Function The Quality Technician is responsible for testing products according to required standards, maintaining and calibrating test equipment, performing process and product audits, processing and documenting product in the material review area, reviewing process sheets for conformity, and maintaining a clean and organized lab. Main Responsibilities Perform product testing and audits Manage material review and documentation Support operations and continuous improvement Maintain equipment and work environment Duties and Responsibilities Test products according to required standards Perform process audits and product audits Process and document product in the material review area Provide technical support to Operations proactively and as needed Provide conformance testing and process audit/validation activities Work with Scheduling, Customer Service, Operations, Distribution, and other departments to complete tasks Participate in and complete assigned projects Maintain and calibrate test equipment Review process documentation for conformity Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment Required Qualifications Qualified candidates should have: Ability to conduct all conformance testing associated with Level 4 Process Quality Technician responsibilities, including use of equipment such as: Laser mike Dielectric tester Dissipation pot Tg tester Tinius Olsen Manual elongator Techrand tester Other specified testing equipment Demonstrated ability to meet core requirements in testing knowledge, ability, and competency Ability to meet or exceed performance metrics as defined by the department supervisor and/or manager Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Outlook Ability to work with all levels of people in support of plant objectives Understanding of key problem-solving techniques Ability to conduct effective audits Preferred Qualifications The following qualifications are preferred: Knowledge of oven enamel process Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment Forklift certification Ability to operate hand trucks and hoists Understanding of basic IATF requirements Understanding of automotive requirements ASQ Certified Quality Technician certification ASQ Certified Calibration Technician certification Performance Standards Success in this role will be measured through: Annual performance appraisal Attainment of annual goals established between the manager and employee Achievement of quality, safety, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement expectations Physical Demands and Work Environment This is an active manufacturing and lab-based role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to extreme conditions within the manufacturing site, including high temperatures. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing stairs, reaching above and below chest level, using hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with arms. This role may involve working at various levels, including on a platform up to 80 feet high with a grated floor. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds and may be exposed to chemical, non-toxic fumes or dust.

The environment is well lit. The noise level may be loud due to exposure to and use of fork trucks, and the employee may occasionally be exposed to noise levels above 85 decibels.
