Quality Assurance Technician•Food Manufacturing

Shift:
2:00PM to 10:30PM; Monday through Friday + Overtime/WeekendsPosition SummaryThe Quality Assurance Technician supports food safety and product quality programs within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for monitoring production processes, verifying compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements, and identifying any issues that could impact product integrity or safety.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct routine inspections on active production lines at scheduled intervals to confirm adherence to quality and food safety standards.

Monitor multiple production lines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Identify and report deviations from established quality systems, including but not limited to food safety plans, allergen controls, sanitation practices, good manufacturing practices, foreign material concerns, and product hold processes.

Verify that finished goods meet all applicable regulatory and customer specifications.

Complete required documentation accurately and within designated timeframes.

Maintain clean and organized workspaces in alignment with standard housekeeping expectations.

Safeguard sensitive operational information, including product details, processes, and customer data.

Inspect and maintain testing equipment and tools to ensure proper functionality.

Collect, label, and store product samples and retention items in accordance with procedures.

Implement hold protocols for nonconforming materials or finished products.

Perform food safety checks and preventive control activities as assigned.

Support product trials, validation runs, and process testing when needed.

Participate in audits, inspections, and additional quality verification activities.

Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of three months of experience in a quality assurance or inspection role.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects in a fast paced production setting.

Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and willingness to learn equipment functionality as it relates to product quality.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to perform basic math calculations, including fractions, ratios, and percentages.

Proficiency with standard office software applications.

PreferredAdditional education or training beyond high school.

One year or more of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or a related technical field.

Bilingual skills, including Spanish, are a plus.

Work EnvironmentManufacturing setting with exposure to production equipment, varying noise levels, and temperature conditions.

Work areas may include both warm and refrigerated environments depending on assignment.

Team oriented environment requiring collaboration across departments.

Physical RequirementsAbility to stand or sit for extended periods.

Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts based on production needs.
