This role helps maintain stable, capable production processes through injection molding support, setup and changeover activities, process troubleshooting, validation support, accurate documentation, and coordination with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance. The successful candidate applies sound technical judgment, follows established procedures, and contributes to a safe, compliant, and continuous-improvement-focused manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Process support — Provide hands-on support for medical device manufacturing processes, with a focus on injection molding and related production equipment. Setup and changeover — Perform equipment setup, mold or tooling changeovers, startup checks, and first-piece activities in accordance with approved procedures. Troubleshooting — Investigate process deviations and equipment issues, identify likely causes, and implement or escalate corrective actions. Process control — Monitor key process conditions, recognize trends, and recommend adjustments that support consistent product quality and throughput. Validation support — Assist with process qualification, validation runs, engineering studies, and implementation of approved process changes. Documentation — Complete batch records, logbooks, checklists, setup documentation, deviation records, and other required manufacturing records accurately and on time. Preventive maintenance coordination — Coordinate with Maintenance on preventive maintenance activities, equipment readiness, repairs, and follow-up actions. Quality systems — Follow applicable procedures and support investigations, nonconformance activities, CAPA actions, change control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration — Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve issues and support reliable daily operations. Knowledge sharing — Share process knowledge and help train team members on approved methods, equipment operation, and troubleshooting practices. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing, process technology, injection molding, or a related technical environment. Experience following controlled procedures and completing manufacturing documentation in a regulated or quality-focused environment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot process or equipment issues using structured problem-solving methods. Ability to read and follow work instructions, setup sheets, drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements. Ability to communicate clearly, work collaboratively, and manage priorities in a production setting. Preferred Qualifications Technical certificate, associate degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on training in manufacturing, plastics, automation, or a related field. Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, or other highly regulated manufacturing operations. Experience with process validation, IQ/OQ/PQ activities, engineering trials, or formal process qualification. Experience with injectable molding is a plus. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools. Technical Skills Injection molding — Understand basic molding parameters, tooling, materials, startup conditions, and common molding defects. Process troubleshooting — Use observation, data, and documented methods to isolate causes and verify effective solutions. Equipment and tooling — Safely operate and adjust production equipment and support mold, fixture, and tooling changes. Quality documentation — Apply good documentation practices and use electronic or paper-based quality systems accurately.
