Job Title:
Quality Inspector Job Description The Quality Inspector supports first article inspections using a 3D arm or laser tracker, performs conventional inspections, and ensures that all inspected parts meet required specifications. This role conducts production first part checks, final inspections before processing, supplier product inspections, and complex assembly inspections while clearly communicating results to Manufacturing, Programming, and Engineering teams. Responsibilities + Perform first article inspections using a 3D arm or laser tracker to verify that initial parts meet all specified requirements. + Conduct conventional inspections on parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and OEM specifications. + Support production first part checks by inspecting initial production pieces and confirming they meet quality standards before full production runs. + Carry out final inspections before processing to confirm parts meet all dimensional and quality requirements prior to subsequent operations. + Inspect supplier products to verify conformance to purchase order requirements, blueprints, and applicable specifications. + Perform complex assembly inspections, ensuring all components and assemblies meet design and quality criteria. + Use blueprints and engineering drawings to interpret dimensions, tolerances, and specifications for inspection activities. + Utilize tools such as a 3D arm, laser tracker, Enovia 3D Viewer, Discus FAIR software, and Net-Inspect to document and report inspection results. + Communicate inspection findings clearly and promptly to Manufacturing, Programming, and Engineering teams to support timely resolution of issues. + Document inspection results accurately in applicable systems, including FAIR documentation and electronic quality records, in accordance with internal procedures. + Follow established quality control procedures and OEM specifications to ensure consistent and reliable inspection outcomes. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement of inspection processes and product quality.
