American Howa Kentucky, Inc. is seeking a full-time Quality Assistant Manager.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Control quality through use of APQP, Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, SPC, Six Sigma tools. Will oversee attainment of ISO 14001 and 9001 certifications to ensure customer requirements are exceeded, while supporting the policies and standard operation procedures of
AHK. RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining planned processes, collecting data, reporting findings, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while adhering to AHK's standards and meeting our customers' business needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Understand and promote AHK's operating philosophies Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments Support overseeing necessary external lab testing, including calibrations Monitor quality department team members to insure procedures and work instructions are being followed correctly. Monitor corrective actions and problem solving, root cause analysis Support quality engineers to establish and maintain work instructions Support quality engineers with preparation of PPAP with follow up Support Inspection of all trial and new launches Create, maintain, and monitoring of all quality related documentation as needed Support follow up of customer claims and corrective action activities Evaluate skill level of quality technician using skill level evaluations, summarize and report findings, suggestions for improvements Support and monitor rework procedure which includes training and observation Shop floor management, verify check sheets are completed and correct, help monitor and manage 5S in quality areas Support preparation of monthly reports including; plant review report and line specific KPI reports Negotiate supplier debit memos as needed Support new quality employee training Managing 4M changes Support monitoring and managing of annual budget, implement cost improvement activity Perform other duties as required (other projects or assignments requested) Visit customers as needed to support when quality issues happen
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in a team environment Ability to communicate with team members and support staff Knowledge of quality assurance analytical tools Knowledge of computer applications; including Word, Excel and Power Point Must be willing to work extended hours as needed to meet production requirements Ability to make independent decisions on the company's behalf Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills Strong ability to remain in a confidential manner any pertinent AHK information and or assignments.

Standing, stooping, bending, walking, twisting, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling daily Ability to operate computers Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED required or equivalent experience Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing preferred or equivalent experience Quality experience required
OTHER:
