The QC Technician supports manufacturing, printing operations, and receiving groups by ensuring that materials received and products produced meet established specifications. The position is responsible for quality inspection, testing, and verification of screen-printed decals, labels, and related products including dimensional verification using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) systems. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
The QC technician will handle the following job responsibilities: Verify print registration, layer-to-layer alignment, color consistency, print quality, adhesion, and overall appearance of printed products. Inspect printed features for defects including smearing, pinholes, voids, streaking, misregistration, contamination, color variation, incomplete prints, and substrate damage. Review and interpret customer drawings, artwork files, specifications, and inspection requirements. Approve first article samples and production start-ups prior to full production release. Validate line clearances and process audits to ensure compliance with approved work instructions and quality requirements. Support validation and qualification activities for new printing processes, equipment, materials, and products. Assist production personnel in identifying and resolving printing-related quality issues. Do analytical analysis as required (FTIR, TGA, etc.). Participate in problem solving/root cause analysis to reduce/eliminate product-related issues. (participate in the Corrective Action Process). Generate C of C's or C of A's as necessary. Generate and maintain quality records. Participate in weekly clean-up of work areas. Qualifications Candidates must have the following skills and qualifications. Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, screen printing, graphic products, medical devices, electronics, or related industries preferred. Experience operating CMM equipment, vision inspection systems, or other dimensional measurement systems preferred. Exposure to computer-aided design (CAD) or technical drawings desirable. High school or post-secondary level math skills Attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
