Job Description
Sweet Lucy's Bakeshop is looking for an experienced baking professional who is ready to take the next step in their culinary career. We are looking for someone who has spent their career learning, growing, and naturally taking on more responsibility along the way. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to continue building their leadership skills while working closely with the owner of a small, independent bakery and learning more about the day-to-day operations of running a successful bakeshop. Our Production Manager will oversee daily bakery production, lead our kitchen team, maintain our quality standards, and keep the systems and routines that make a busy production kitchen run smoothly on track. This is a hands-on position—we are looking for someone who enjoys being in the kitchen, working alongside a team, and taking ownership of the work being produced each day.
Who We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of professional baking or pastry experience. Strong technical baking skills, including proficiency in lamination and a broad range of professional baking and pastry techniques
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a professional kitchen
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A natural leader who is comfortable giving direction, providing feedback, and holding a team to high standards
- An excellent eye for quality control and consistency
- Someone who thrives on routines, systems, production schedules, and organization
- A positive, steady presence who works well as a part of a team
- Someone who is genuinely passionate about baking and food
- An interest in recipe development, testing, and helping us continue to improve and grow our menu
- A desire to continue growing professionally and taking on greater responsibility
Schedule & Position Requirements:
- Tuesday-Saturday schedule, 5am start time (must be comfortable working early mornings)
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of working in a busy professional kitchen
- Overtime expected during holidays and other busy production periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential to this position If you've spent the last several years becoming the person your kitchen relies on and you're ready for the title, responsibility, and opportunity to match—we love to hear from you!
