Job Description

Company Overview A quickly growing import company in the natural bulk ingredient industry seeks a reliable, organized, self-motivated In-Plant Quality Assurance Specialist to join us full-time in our Braintree, MA facility. This position serves as an on-site quality resource, monitoring processes, inspecting materials and finished products, identifying quality concerns, and ensuring established procedures and specifications are consistently followed.
Position Duties:
Perform routine in-process and finished-product quality inspections to verify compliance with established specifications and quality standards. Monitor production activities to ensure employees are following approved procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements. Inspect incoming materials, components, packaging, and other supplies as required. Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials, products, or processes. Initiate and maintain documentation related to quality concerns, nonconformances, deviations, and corrective actions. Work directly with Operations personnel to investigate quality issues and determine appropriate corrective action. Conduct follow-up inspections to verify that identified quality concerns have been appropriately addressed. Perform GMP audits according to program. Maintain accurate quality inspection, testing, and production records. Assist with investigating customer quality concerns and provide internal documentation and findings as needed. Monitor proper handling, labeling, storage, and segregation of materials and products. Support receiving inspections and the approval of new materials or vendors when required. Assist with internal and external quality audits and preparation of supporting documentation. Help maintain documentation required for company certifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality programs. Review production and quality records for completeness and accuracy. Identify recurring quality issues and communicate trends or opportunities for process improvement to management. Assist with employee training related to quality procedures, documentation, and manufacturing standards. Escalate significant quality or compliance concerns to management promptly. Maintain an organized and accurate quality documentation system. Perform other quality-related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Previous experience in quality assurance, quality control, manufacturing, production, or a related environment preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to identify quality concerns and objectively document findings. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Ability to read, understand, and follow specifications, procedures, and work instructions. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate quality concerns professionally and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations and other departments. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn company quality and ERP systems. Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive quality or customer information. Skills Proven experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of quality standards in production. Skilled in performing quality audits, inspections, and data analysis to identify trends or issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation purposes. Excellent attention to detail with strong analysis skills for evaluating product conformity and process improvements. Ability to follow strict safety procedures including PPE use during all inspection activities.
