broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as a Quality Assurance Specialist and assess, evaluate, and monitor resources to ensure acceptable quality and mission assurance standards are met for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Monitors processes and practices that ensure compliance with quality and mission assurance strategies, policies, agreements and standards. Investigate un-verified failures. Review and verify failure analyses and anomaly resolution. Participate in technical issues and independent review teams. Develop and communicate quality assurance planning and practices, corrective actions, and appropriate policy initiatives that span all MDA programs, site management activities, and general operations. Coordinate and monitor sensitive and complex quality assurance issues. Develop briefings and alternative courses of action and prepare detailed summaries, analyses, and reports outlining critical quality assurance issues which may affect the mission and goals of the MDA and the sustainment of the missile defense program. The physical demands of the work require considerable and strenuous physical exertion, such as traverse (up and down) ladders, occasional moderate/heavy lifting, must not have abnormal anxiety to temporarily work in confined spaces, and walking/standing for long periods of time. Must be able to work around chemicals, solvents, dust and particulates that may be encountered inside/outside any of these manufacturing test facilities without the need of a respirator. This is an acquisition position coded Foundational in Engineering and Technical Management. Incumbent must obtain mandatory Back-to-Basics (BtB) certification within 36 months of entry into position. One year of specialized experience equivalent to theNH-02/GS-11
grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 2 of the 3 specialized experience listed below to be qualified: Planning, performing, or overseeing the manufacturing, assembly, and qualification testing of complex mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems and assemblies. Conducting formal process audits, quality evaluations, and surveillance of manufacturing and testing workflows to verify compliance with technical standards and engineering drawings. Implementing and enforcing Quality, Safety, or Mission Assurance (QSMA) principles, policies, risk mitigations, and root-cause corrective action (RCCA) protocols within defense or space systems programs. OR B.Undergraduate and Graduate Education:
Major study -- quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or other fields related to the position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
