$26 - $37 /hr Position Summary The CMM Operator/Programmer is responsible for operating, maintaining, and programming Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment to inspect and measure manufactured parts, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. This role includes writing and editing CMM programs, performing inspections, troubleshooting quality concerns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school certification preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CMM equipment and utilizing relevant software applications Experience writing and editing CMM programs using software such as PC-DMIS or Calypso Proficient in the use of precision inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, and indicators Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Solid computer proficiency Effective time management and multitasking abilities Strong mechanical aptitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Basic understanding of root cause analysis and corrective actions Ability to pass an annual eye exam administered by a licensed optometrist Duties & Responsibilities Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements while promoting a strong safety culture Inspect and measure parts using CMM equipment to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards Utilize basic math skills, blueprint reading, and GD&T interpretation during inspections Write, edit, and maintain CMM programs using PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar software Perform routine maintenance and calibration verification on CMM equipment Collaborate with Machine Operators, Programmers, Quality personnel, and Management to ensure product quality Document inspection results and report discrepancies to senior operators, engineers, or management Correlate CMM inspection data with manual inspection methods and surface plate inspections Operate in compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards, including proper documentation, revision control, traceability, and lot control Troubleshoot quality issues and assist in implementing corrective actions Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with 6S procedures Perform additional duties as assigned Working Conditions Manufacturing/production environment with exposure to:- High noise levels from operating machinery Moving mechanical equipment and sharp machine components Dust, fumes, mist, oils, and cutting fluids Forklift traffic and sharp metal edges Occasional travel between the Southwick and Westfield facilities may be required Physical Requirements Ability to read customer and company documentation with or without corrective lenses Ability to lift up to 30 pounds as needed Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, push, pull, reach overhead, and/or sit for extended periods of time You should be proficient in:
