Spherion is seeking a meticulous and safety-driven Inspector & Quality Technician to join a leading aerospace operation in Worcester, MA. This high-impact role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and airworthiness of critical PT6-series turbine engine components throughout an advanced engineering and FAA-approved repair process. As a key member of the quality team, you will evaluate components at every stage of inspection, overhaul, and repair, ensuring compliance with strict FAA regulations, OEM specifications, and company standards. Responsibilities:
Multi-Stage Diagnostics:
Execute thorough evaluations on incoming raw parts, in-progress overhauls, and finished assemblies to determine repairability and service life.
Blueprint Translation:
Analyze complex blueprints, engineering orders, original equipment manufacturer (OEM) manuals, and regulatory paperwork to guide inspection criteria. ...

Utilize micrometers, calipers, and advanced gauging tools to verify exact dimensional tolerances on intricate turbine parts.
Regulatory Auditing:
Scrutinize shop travelers, repair logs, and technician sign-offs to guarantee absolute administrative accuracy and compliance.
Flight Certification:
Authorized personnel will officially sign off on documentation and certify components for immediate return to service.
Cross-Functional Alignment:
Partner seamlessly with machinists, welders, engineers, and plant leadership to resolve quality discrepancies and foster continuous shop floor improvements.

PM Skills:
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station
Direct experience with PT6-series turbine engines
Prior role in aerospace inspection or turbine overhaul/maintenance
Experience performing final inspection / airworthiness certification
Familiarity with regulatory auditing and compliance documentation
Exposure to cross-functional shop coordination (engineers, machinists, welders)
Education:
Bachelors Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
Precision inspection experience in aerospace, turbine maintenance, or regulated manufacturing (FAA Part 145 environment implied)
Mechanical aptitude (understanding turbine engine components and systems)
Ability to use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, and advanced gauges)
Ability to interpret technical documents, including:
Engineering blueprints
OEM manuals
Repair orders and regulatory paperwork
Attention to detail and good ethics (critical for aviation safety compliance)
Physical ability to:
Stand/walk for long periods
Lift up to 35 lbs
