Job Description
CMM Inspector/Programmer Four-day work week, three-day weekends, every week!! Are you an experienced CMM Inspector and/or programmer looking to be a part of one of the race world's leading precision machined components manufacturers? Description We are looking for a seasoned CMM Inspector for a busy Machine Shop ensuring excellent quality control. Considering all candidates with mechanical inspection and programming Hexagon/CMM experience; automotive mechanical knowledge a plus!
Programming Software Utilized :
Hexagon Metrology PC DMIS software (most current version) Job Responsibilities- Reads and interprets complex tool design and engineering drawings to determine adherence to prints and specifications.
- Ensures procedures and work instructions are followed, resolving quality-related issues.
- Stages and performs size and positional measurements on product parts using manual surface-plate techniques or CMM on fragile parts without damaging parts or measuring equipment.
- Inspects finished parts and hardware to drawings and workmanship standards using CMM, measuring tools and visual techniques, verifying assemblies meet all customer requirements.
- Accurately records as-built information, nonconformance information and traceability requirements, completing accurate inspection records of materials manufactured.
- Work with machinists and engineers to address nonconformance.
- Communicate effectively and responsibly in technical discussions with members of management, engineering, and shop personnel equally.
- Masterfully use gauges, micrometers and fixtures ensuring that instruments are in calibration prior to use.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues in a timely fashion.
- Ensures all daily checks are being done, maintaining complete and accurate inspection records using a computer terminal.
- Works independently with detailed instructions relying on one's own knowledge of measuring applications. Position Requirements (required)
- 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Ability to use dial caliper and micrometers with tolerances in the thousandths.
- Ability to calculate figures such as ratios, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply the basic concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and shop math as they relate to inspection or troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with plant tools and equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to handle physical workload of Quality Control.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
