Job Description
Job Description The Material Coordinator will have the following duties and responsibilities: lead and coordinate resources within the tool room to ensure all tool/toolboxes, test equipment and hazardous materials (Hazmat) are efficiently tracked and inline with quality standards ensuring that health, safety and environmental requirements are adhered to oversee the requirements for the mobile calibration process (equipment listing, pricing, purchase request/order) maintain organized and accurate records to be able to perform well during internal and external audits monitor the completion of tasks to ensure good performance and customer service receives, stores, and issues hand tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment maintain and update records of tool room equipment, tools & kits ensure tools are being calibrated, as required and records updated in tool room database keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory ensure tool room attendants are performing in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and updates are made as processes/requirements change unpacks and stores equipment reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors tracks damaged material through the repair process attaches identification tags or engraves identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool attends Hazmat training courses to obtain Hazmat certifications orders Hazmat items as needed by the program assists four locations for the upkeep of Hazmat chemicals and inventory identifies sources of supply, procures, receives, and stocks specialized tools updates material inventory manages government and commercially owned stock The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $29.27/hr. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas. Required Education, Experience, & Skills High School diploma and at least 2 years of experience in inventory control and knowledge of a tool room environment Detail oriented and good organizational skills Experience with inventory control Experience using Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.) Dependable and reliable Self starter, motivated and able to positively motivate others on the team Pay Information This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
