Job Title:
Scale House Operator/Admin.
Assistant Hours:
7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday- Occasional Saturday's 7am-11:30 am

Job Description:
The scale house operator is an individual with strong people and computer skills; whose primary functions are related to ensure each and every truck entering the facility is properly weighed and paid. The position is responsible for operating the weigh scales, scale computer/printer, data entry, cashier duties, and record keeping. The position is also required to answer incoming phone calls. Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Greet all incoming customers/drivers at the scale Ensure all trucks are properly and accurately weighed on the scale both entering and leaving the facility Inspect loads based upon content; specifically, do not accept loads containing hazardous or unauthorized waste, or other materials not in compliance with regulations for tipping at our facility Make accurate basic mathematical calculations Answer office telephone calls; respond to public questions regarding prices, hours of operations etc. Write checks to customers Represent the company in a professional, courteous manner at all times Handle clerical functions assigned by Manager Sort, process weight tickets for each day's receipts Perform custodial duties Enter data into Excel for inventory purposes Help with filing and organizing Perform other duties as assigned
Selection Factors and Requirements:
Attends work on a continuous and regular basis Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word) Follows directions with minimal supervision Experience in an office environment, including computer applications, filing, and reception experience Previous scale house experience highly desired Due to safety considerations associated with industrial recycling equipment all personnel must communicate verbally in English see physical surroundings, hear others, and demonstrate good communication skills. Must possess the ability to multi-task Must be able to work effectively with managers, coworkers, and customers Full attention to detail to minimize the risk of errors Doesnt mind using a port-a-potty
