JOB SUMMARY
The Receiving Inspector is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments of raw materials and products, as well as the associated documentation. This role ensures all incoming materials meet company quality standards and customer requirements. This role also includes inspection of painted products, ink markings, assemblies, packaging, and cleanliness (FOD). The Receiving Inspector supports quality assurance processes by identifying nonconformances and ensuring proper handling, traceability, and compliance throughout the receiving and inspection process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Receives goods, unloads trucks, verifies product quality and quantity of all items unloaded. Compares packing lists to company purchase orders and ensures that the products in each delivery match the documentation. Verifies all incoming documentation (e.g., certifications, test reports, packing slips) for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements. Verifies SDS documentation is supplied as required. Performs inspection of incoming materials and components to ensure conformance to the PO, specifications, dimensional and quality standards. Signs for deliveries, once verified and deemed acceptable. Conducts paint and ink marking inspections on internal and supplied products, to ensure all products meet customer requirements. Completes in process paint and ink marking inspection documentation as required. Performs inspections of assemblies, to verify correct configuration and workmanship. Conducts outgoing packaging inspections to ensure compliance with customer-specific packaging requirements. Inspects for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and ensures cleanliness standards are met. Identifies, documents, and reports nonconforming products in accordance with company procedures, using uniPoint software. Delivers or routes materials to appropriate departments using equipment such as hand trucks, powered pallet jacks, or powered industrial trucks. Communicates with PO "Issued By" engineer, regarding discrepancies or quality issues. Communicates with suppliers regarding damages, returns and missing or incorrect documentation. Processes returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items as requested; packages products and completes required documentation. Organizes and stores items received in appropriate areas to maintain traceability and material integrity. Maintains accurate records of receiving and inspection data, in the appropriate files to support Quality, Accounting, and other departments. Maintains paint product inventory control, while tracking overall inventory, traceability to batch numbers and expiration dates. Keeps loading dock, staging/working areas, and office space orderly and clean. Performs other clerical and quality related duties as needed to support the Quality and Receiving Departments.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of related experience preferred. Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports. Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing), listen, assess, and problem solve. Previous experience in quality assurance role preferred. Previous experience using common material handling equipment such as hand trucks, powered pallet jacks, and powered industrial trucks preferred. Must be able to traverse workspace and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by positioning self to different heights and levels. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Must pass a post-employment offer drug screen and background check.
