SHIFT:
1st Shift Summary Conducts activities on the production floor to assure meeting quality objectives and continual quality improvement. Provides support to manufacturing and engineering to assure a quality product is being shipped to the customer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Observes, audits, inspects, tests and analyzes raw components, full assemblies and processes to continually improve quality performance. Implements corrective action related to industrial processes, materials, and products. Inspects non-conforming material to determine failure modes to ensure accurate disposition of incoming material and finished goods. Completes reports and documentation on audits, non-conforming material and quality related issues. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements. Investigates customer complaints regarding quality. Conducts product and process audits in accordance with automotive quality standards. Controls the use of gauging, monitoring, and measuring equipment on the production floor and tracks calibration status. Reviews and routes revisions to specifications in the EMPWeb specification system. Bubbles customer and proprietary drawings, identify special characteristics and develop layout inspection template. Develops inspection requirements for production parts, including Receiving and Final Audit. Reviews and approves shop floor documentation. Assists with containment of product when a quality issue is reported. Issues quality watches and submits NCQRs. Aids production with resolution of quality problems. Participates in the development of FMEAs, Control Plans, and Shop Floor documents. Works with Quality Engineers to complete capability and layout Completes internal PPAP documentation, reviews, and submits to Quality Engineer. Responds to Customer complaints in supplier portals and works across departments to resolve issues. Education and/or Experience Associates degree in a related field and a minimum of four years quality related experience and/or a combination of education and experience as determined by the Quality Manager. Familiarity with electrical equipment desired.
