Summary
Dimensionally verifies product quality through inspections. Provides support to Engineering and Manufacturing to assure a quality product is being shipped to the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Measures parts using CMM and/or conventional gages.
Approves first pieces produced on all production runs.
Assists Process Technicians with measurement results to adjust processes to meet specifications.
Writes minor edits to CMM programs.
Collects data for SPC.
Conducts 100% dimension lay-outs.
Sets up gages for process inspections.
Calibrate gages per work instructions.
Audits production work areas.
Final Audits parts for shipment when required.
Logs daily scrap into computer.
Education and/or Experience
Technical school certificate and 2 years related experience; and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret blueprints is necessary.
