POSITION SUMMARY
The Coordinator of Quality Improvement and Risk Manager is responsible for utilizing clinical and data analytical expertise to identify quality and patient safety trends, prompt patient safety throughout the continuum of care and leads teams to improve quality and patient safety. This role will support and drive improvement activities for accountable areas based on organization priorities (program management, measure deliverables, milestone and data informed strategy) to support compliance of accreditation/TJC for quality chapters. Collaborate with multidisciplinary health care teams to reduce and prevent adverse medical outcomes, minimize the risk of injury to patient, staff and visitors, and control any associated liability. In the event of a sentinel event, this role will be involved in the investigation, safety event investigation and trend analysis, risk management program development, educational in-service and process improvement projects. This role collaborates with all members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and impactful education.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Register Nurse preferred.
- 1-2 years of mental health experience preferred.
- Ability to organize effective programs for adult learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish positive professional relationships.
- Certificate of Quality Improvement preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle daily risk management activity and compliance process.
- Coordinate audits, chart reviews, and compliance monitoring activities to support accreditation readiness and compliance with regulatory bodies.
- Analyze, interpret, and communicate benchmark quality data and trends to identify opportunities and improvement outcomes.
- Support strategic quality goal setting to influence strategic priorities.
- Comfortable presenting data to all levels of stakeholders.
- Support responses to grievance, compliance, and external reviews.
- Plan and provide in-service education on policies and procedures as needed.
- Serve on various task forces and committees as required.
- Develop, revise, and update policies and procedures as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
