Quality Engineer 1

Job Specifications:

Strong knowledge of relevant software, QA methods/ tools, and manufacturing process Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming and interpretation of outputs Strong math and GD&T understanding necessary Effective at organizing information and clear communication to cross functional team Must have prioritization skills, capable of critical thinking and logical problem solving Comfortable in team/ social environment, asking and answering critical questions Understanding of CNC programming & machining processes preferred

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ownership of work areas and/or programs as designated by QM. Work with quality team members, quality manager, and other departments to monitor production, initiate continuous improvement and participate in problem solving activities. Provide input for new gage/ fixture designs relative to GD&T and CMM accessibility Creation, testing, and maintaining inspection programs that operate and control CMM machines in accordance with production standards. (Manual and DCC machines, CMM Manager software). Quality inspection checks 1st piece, hourly, final, last piece, backward recall on non-conforming product and implementing non-conforming product hold tags. Gauge Calibration/ Gage R&R Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Document testing and root cause analysis for internal or external problems. Create Work instructions, provide feedback, and review issues with QM/ME to address the issue. Support Supplier Quality, via inspection, reporting, and corrective action, as required Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards. Qualifications:

Associate Degree or equivalent years of experience with thorough understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) Knowledge of CMM software, ability to mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on CMM machine using hand tools and precision measuring instruments Use of measurement devices and calibration experience with various gages, tools and different methods of calibration CNC machine shop experience a plus ISO and IATF experience a plus PPAP documentation experience a plus Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
