Job Description

Farm Club is looking for an experienced bakery manager to join our kitchen staff. Our grain driven bakery program focuses on naturally leavened breads as well as cookies, scones and pastry for our bakery and restaurant menus. We mill locally and regionally grown, organic whole grains for use in our baked goods and breads. Applicants must be experienced bakers and managers. We are looking for a minimum of 2 years baking and management experience, preferably with pastry, whole grain and naturally leavened breads.

Experience and Qualifications:
Must have baking experience; pastry, whole grain and naturally leavened breads preferred. Impeccable attendance, friendly and a strong work ethic. Minimum 2 years of experience managing a kitchen, including all administrative duties (invoice management, maintaining COGS, staff scheduling, employee relations, etc.); familiarity with Google Suite highly preferred. Servsafe Certification preferred. High standards of cleanliness, organization and presentation. Ability to adapt and have fun with the flow of fresh ingredients from the farm to the kitchen and curiosity for food sourcing. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and spend long periods of time standing.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Set daily, weekly and seasonal production schedules. Develop seasonal recipes for the bakery and restaurant menus. Monitor and maintain inventory needs for menu and bakery, minimizing waste while maximizing sales. Attend Artisan Grain Collaborative's monthly bakers working group virtual meetings and attend events as a Farm Club representative. Manage bakery staff including but not limited to: creating work lists, scheduling, monitoring processes, efficiencies and quality control, training. Assist in hiring. Inventory Management and ordering. Oversee quality and troubleshoot efficiently and effectively to ensure Farm Club's quality standards are met. Possess the skills and ability to fill in any bakery or mill position. Work with FOH, BOH and management team to maintain our culture of cooperation, inspiration, continuous improvement, kindness and positivity. Take lead on resolving production and any day-to-day operational issues in the bakery by troubleshooting within in a timely manner. Maintain and create organizational documents used in the bakery, such as prep lists, par sheets, cleaning checklists. Participate in performance reviews of the bakery team. Manage all aspects of pasta production; quality, equipment, inventory. Preventative maintenance of bakery tools and equipment. Cleaning, organization and tool care and maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
