Overview The Quality Inspector in Steel Tool and Engineering ensures that metal components, machined parts, and fabricated tools meet all dimensional, structural, and performance requirements. The role involves inspecting raw steel materials, monitoring in‑process machining and fabrication, and verifying final products against engineering drawings, tolerances, and industry standards. Using precision measurement tools, the inspector identifies defects, documents nonconformities, and works with production and engineering teams to maintain consistent quality and support continuous improvement. This position helps ensure safe, reliable, and high‑performance steel and tooling products for customers. Responsibilities Conduct inspections on steel tools, components, and engineering materials to ensure adherence to specifications. Perform dimensional checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measurement tools. Identify and document quality defects, recommending corrective actions. Ensure compliance with industry standards and company quality guidelines. Maintain accurate inspection records and reports for audits and quality control tracking. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced product quality and efficiency. Stand for extended periods of time Lift heavy objects on a regular basis Repetitive tasks with few breaks Ability to lift 50lbs Qualifications Experience in quality inspection within steel, tooling, or engineering industries (preferred). Strong knowledge of measurement tools, blueprints and etc Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Familiarity with ISO standards and industry regulations (preferred).
