QUALITY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

will assist Quality Engineers in developing and maintaining quality engineering methodologies and providing quality technical support within new product introduction and manufacturing. Work in a team environment to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste and provide for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include but not limited to: Support Quality Engineering to identify customer quality requirements and develop inspection plans and methods to support their achievement. Support Quality Engineering in measurement system analysis, statistical sampling, statistical process control, and machine capability analysis. Support Quality Engineering in the development, execution, and statistical analysis of machine and process validations. Support Quality Engineering in the management of internal and external quality issues for assigned customers. Support product teams to define problems, perform root cause analysis, choose and implement solutions, and test their effectiveness. Support Quality Engineering in the development and maintenance of Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Support Quality Engineering with actions stemming from the Material Review Board in regard to containment and disposition activities for nonconforming product.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Intermediate knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control). General knowledge of Statistical Techniques and Analysis. General knowledge of problem-solving techniques and Quality tools. Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to shifting priorities and meet deadlines. Problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to think independently. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate and work well with others. Show initiative in work by being a self-starter, suggesting new ideas for completing a job, giving input as to how to improve the efficiency of a job, and organizing work time in order to complete jobs in a timely matter.
