Job Description

Job Title:
Quality Assurance Specialist Job Description This role ensures that all products moving through the facility meet established quality standards and specifications. You will inspect incoming and outgoing shipments, identify and document defects, and work closely with the quality control team to maintain consistent product quality. The position involves hands-on work in a warehouse environment, including physical tasks, documentation, and collaboration with other departments such as picking and packing. Responsibilities Inspect incoming shipments for defects, including issues with stitching, labeling, printing, and any other visible errors. Perform quality control checks on outbound shipments to ensure products meet established quality specifications before leaving the facility. Work closely with the quality control (QC) team to maintain and improve quality standards across all products. Use paperwork logs to document inspections, maintain accurate records, and ensure products are properly tagged and assembled. Maintain accurate pick counts and ensure all documentation reflects correct quantities and product details. Conduct visual inspections to identify issues, defects, or nonconformities and escalate concerns as needed. Read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) in English to perform quality checks and related tasks correctly. Cross-train and assist in other departments, including working with pickers and packers, as business needs require. Lift and move products weighing 30-50 lbs throughout the day while performing inspection and quality tasks. Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP) and facility quality standards to support a safe and compliant operation. Use warehouse tools and equipment, such as RF scanners, to support order picking, product verification, and inventory-related activities. Support general labor and production activities related to quality assurance, including inspection, diagnosis of issues, and document control. Essential Skills Approximately 1 year of experience in quality assurance or quality control, ideally in a production or warehouse environment. Experience with quality control and quality assurance processes, including inspection, visual inspection, and quality checks. Ability to identify defects in products, such as stitching, labeling, printing, and other visible issues. Strong attention to detail and the ability to notice issues, mistakes, or inconsistencies in products and documentation. Ability to read and write English in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs). Experience working in a warehouse environment, including order picking, warehouse packing, and inventory support. Comfort with lifting 30-50 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to stand for the entire shift in a designated work area. Familiarity with RF scanners and basic warehouse technology for product verification and order processing. Understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and adherence to quality standards. Capability to maintain accurate document control and paperwork logs related to quality inspections and product tracking. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food production quality is welcomed and will be considered. Experience with diagnosis of product issues and root-cause identification. Comfort working in an open warehouse environment with repetitive tasks. Flexible mindset and willingness to cross train in multiple departments. Work Environment The role is based in a brand-new, approximately 120,000-square-foot open warehouse facility. You will work primarily in a defined 8x8 area for most of the day, standing for the entire shift while performing inspections and related tasks. The environment involves active warehouse operations, including movement of products, use of RF scanners, and coordination with picking, packing, and inventory functions. Work is hands-on and physical, with regular lifting of 30-50 lbs and continuous attention to detail in a production and logistics setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
