JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title Department Reports to Quality Inspector Quality Assurance Quality Supervisor Employment Status FLSA Status Effective Date ☐ Temporary ☒ Full-Time ☐ Part-Time ☒ Non-Exempt ☐ Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
The Inspector performs inspections of Swan Machine's products to determine conformance with customer specifications and workmanship requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Utilizing standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, and test rigs Processing associated documentation including process tags, rework tags, and nonconforming material documents Working under direct supervision and in accordance with instructions and techniques Perform first piece / set-up inspections as well as in-process inspections to ensure operators and machinists check their work Perform final inspections prior to plating and shipping including but not limited to: o Accept & reject parts/ products based on customer specifications o Initiate Non-Conformance as a result of rejected material o Perform measurement equipment verifications and/or calibrations and document results Ability to maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations, as well as keep a safe and clean work environment Performing other work-related duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES
) High School Diploma or GED required Must have a minimum of 6 months inspection experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of standard mechanical and electrical instruments, functional gauges, and test rigs Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions Knowledge of manual product marking systems and automatic systems a plus Ability to work under direct supervision and to follow written instructions and techniques Good basic mathematical aptitude required
