Job Description
Company Overview M&L Industries, Inc. is a privately owned contract manufacturer serving a variety of industrial customers. We are committed to quality workmanship, dependable service, and creating a team-oriented manufacturing environment. Overview M&L Industries is seeking a dependable and versatile General Fabrication Operator to support several areas of our fabrication department. This position performs secondary operations such as tapping, chamfering, and deburring, operates press brake equipment, and provides fill-in coverage for laser operations as needed. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable working from blueprints and job instructions, and willing to move between fabrication processes based on production needs. Duties
- Perform tapping, chamfering, deburring, grinding, and other secondary fabrication operations.
- Operate press brake equipment to form sheet-metal components.
- Complete press brake setups and adjustments when qualified; setup experience is a plus.
- Provide fill-in and backup coverage for laser cutting operations.
- Load and unload material and parts safely.
- Operate or assist with punch press equipment as needed.
- Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, travelers, and job specifications.
- Measure completed parts using calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Verify that parts meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Identify and report defective material, tooling issues, or equipment concerns.
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records.
- Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Assist in other fabrication or production areas based on workload.
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing, metal fabrication, or machine-operation experience preferred.
- Experience operating a press brake is preferred.
- Press brake setup experience is a strong plus.
- Nisshinbo punch press experience is a plus.
- Laser cutting machine experience is a plus.
- Ability to read basic mechanical blueprints and understand dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to use common precision measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn multiple fabrication processes and move between work areas.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and handle sheet-metal parts and tooling.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds with assistance available for heavier items.
- Ability to work around manufacturing machinery, metal parts, noise, and industrial equipment.
Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hourBenefits:
