Description:
Summary:
The Quality Lead is responsible for improving the quality of units being built. Assist in creating and executing the quality program that ensures the highest quality units are being produced by Zumbrota Drivetrain.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections on returned goods to determine the root cause for defective units.
  • Look for patterns or trends to ensure there isn't a systemic problem.
  • Inspect units being built in production.
  • Run the dyno to identify quality issues with units.
  • Give feedback to the drivetrain tech and shop lead to improve the product quality and failure rate.
  • Develop an outbound inspection process to improve product quality.
  • Document returns and warranty and analyze trends.
  • Work with purchasing if defects are being caused by a supplier issue.
  • Collaborate with the production management to achieve targeted warranty rates by product class.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Preferred Education and Experience:
Strong automotive background. Must retain a valid driver's license.
Knowledge and Personal Attributes:
Must have a good working knowledge of manual transmissions, transfer cases and front and rear differentials. Must be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently as well as within a team. Must be able to work with Excel. Must be able to provide management reports on trends and quality improvements. Ability to self-manage and estimate to complete any given task around production schedules.
