Job Description
Position Summary The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC totes) and related components meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role supports production by performing inspections, audits, testing, and documentation while promoting compliance with ISO 9001 and internal quality systems. This is a hands-on role working in a manufacturing environment and requires close collaboration with production, maintenance, and leadership to identify, communicate, and resolve quality issues. Essential Functions Enforce all plant safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Serve as a point of contact on 3rd shift for safety, health, and environmental concerns Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and behavioral observations Identify hazards and unsafe conditions; initiate corrective actions and follow-up Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations Monitor proper use of PPE and ensure adherence to safety requirements Assist in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions Maintain and complete safety, health, and environmental reports and logs Support environmental compliance efforts, including waste handling, labeling, and reporting Promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement Perform in-process and final product inspections to ensure compliance with specifications Verify product tolerances, dimensions, and visual standards Identify, document, and control nonconforming materials and finished goods Initiate containment and support corrective action processes Conduct layered process audits and verify adherence to work instructions Support and maintain
ISO 9001
compliance and audit readiness Accurately complete and maintain SHEQ-related documentation (inspection reports, incident reports, audits, etc.) Enter, track, and analyze data within internal systems (quality, safety, scrap, inventory) Maintain proper documentation for traceability and regulatory compliance Communicate trends, concerns, and deviations to management in a timely manner Partner with production teams to ensure SHEQ standards are understood and followed Provide guidance and coaching to operators on safety and quality expectations Assist with onboarding and ongoing training related to safety, environmental, and quality procedures Verify proper component installation and adherence to specifications Participate in 6S and lean manufacturing initiatives Identify opportunities to improve safety performance, reduce risk, and enhance product quality Support internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory inspections Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment Attend required meetings, trainings, and safety briefings Perform all other duties as assigned Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality, safety, or EHS-related role preferred Experience with ISO 9001 and/or EHS programs strongly preferred Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and observational skills Knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulatory compliance (OSHA familiarity preferred) Problem-solving and root cause analysis skills Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret specifications, procedures, and technical documents Basic math skills (measurements, percentages, ratios) Computer Skills (Required) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook required; PowerPoint preferred) Experience with EHS management systems or safety reporting software preferred Ability to enter, track, and analyze data in internal manufacturing or quality systems Comfortable using digital reporting tools, databases, and audit platforms Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and stoop for extended periods Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Exposure to moving machinery, noise, dust, fumes, and temperature variations Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment (hot/cold conditions) Vision correctable to 20/20; normal hearing required Work Environment Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to mechanical equipment and environmental conditions 3rd shift schedule; overtime and weekend work may be required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Steel or composite toe boots Safety glasses Gloves (task-dependent) Hearing protection Cut-resistant sleeves (task-dependent) Proper work attire Hard hatSimilar remote jobs
