Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly-skilled and meticulous Air Brush / Color Matcher to join our leather department. This is a hands-on, production-focused role centered on the art and science of color restoration for leather garments and handbags. The ideal candidate will possess a natural, exceptional eye for color and an understanding of how to achieve perfect visual matches in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Expert Visual Color Matching:

Meticulously analyze and match the existing color of leather items, accounting for variations in material, texture, fading, and patina. This is not just about identifying a color, but about understanding its undertones and how it will appear under different lighting conditions.

Precision Air Brush Application:

Use an airbrush to apply custom-mixed dyes and pigments with a steady hand and excellent hand-eye coordination to achieve seamless color restoration and blending.

Dye and Pigment Mixing:

Precisely measure and mix pigments to create custom color formulas for each unique item. Test and adjust the mixture on inconspicuous areas of the leather to ensure a perfect match.

Quality Control:

Complete tasks with little to no supervision, ensuring the final result meets Arrow Leathercare's high standards for color accuracy and finish.

Team Collaboration:

Work effectively as a team player, from initial analysis to final inspection, to ensure a smooth production workflow and a high-quality finished product.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Exceptional Eye for

Color:

A proven, innate ability to distinguish subtle color variations and undertones. Prior experience in visual color matching is a significant plus.

Physical Dexterity:

Must have a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to stand and bend at the waist for long periods of time.

Problem-Solving:

The ability to analyze a color discrepancy and methodically adjust the formula to correct it.

Independence and Reliability:

Must be able to complete tasks efficiently and accurately with little or no supervision.

Team Player:

Enjoy working in a very fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience:

Previous training or experience in fields that require visual color matching, such as body shop painting, silk screening, or basic textiles . Familiarity with computer data entry.
