Job Description

Position Summary:
Make and print certs from the daily bills of ladings, perform quality audits on samples from the Furnaces, Shears, Level Wind Coilers, the Groovers and Super Coilers and the Bend Room. Do physical testing of finished products to ensure continued quality, maintenance of analytical equipment and instruments, and maintain laboratory records and logbooks. 2. Major Responsibilities/Activities (List in order of importance the essential functions of the job and the approximate percentage of time spent on each of the activities; describe what must be accomplished, not how it must be done.): a. Make and print certs from daily bills of lading. b. Do daily LWCs and Shear quality audits, and do Groovers and Super Coiler quality audits as needed. Do physical testing of finished products, including checking dimensions with micrometer vs. the spec, Rockwell hardness tests, grain evaluations, and pull tests as required by the customer. c. Check furnaces at least every hour for what product is being loaded, check furnace temperature and speed. d. Do quarterly micrometer testing of the operator and perform refresher training as needed. e. Answer questions and/or aid operators in any way. f. Yellow tag material in question until 1st shift comes in and makes a call on what correction needs to be done and/or if material can be used for a different customer. g. Perform other duties as needed, such as record keeping, cleaning, filing, etc. 3.

Decision Making:
a. Decide if the material does not meet the spec for the customer it is being made for. If it does not meet spec, inform the Lead and ensure steps are being taken to bring product into spec. If additional guidance is needed, bring the coils in front of the QA lab with cardboard in between them and have the coils put the length of the coil, defects for the coil, coil weight, and shift they were ran. Also leave a note on the stack with the coil numbers 1 - 4, etc., with the operator's measurements, the pan number, the block number the pan was run on, the block operator, and the date and time the pan was run. 5. Knowledge Skills and Abilities (Include education, experience, reasoning ability, special skills, computer ability and licenses or certifications required): Minimum of high school diploma, associate degree or equivalent, with at least two years' experience in quality assurance or manufacturing preferred. Good analytical ability and computer skills that include proficiency in Microsoft Office are a must.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
General manufacturing environment with no special or restrictive physical requirements. Must be flexible with work hours to provide assistance to all shifts if necessary. Primary responsibilities entail approximately 60% desk and 40% floor activities. Physical requirements typically minimal.
