The Position:
The Quality Inspector, reporting to the ICQA Manager, monitors the quality of incoming and outgoing products or materials for clients. This position works from 7:00am to 3:45pm, Monday through Friday. The compensation for this position is $19.00/hour.
Your Day-to-Day:
Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies Approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance Select output samples and check them using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.) Maintain records of testing, information, and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc. Use measuring tools such as calipers and various gauges to ensure correct dimensions Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn't meet requirements Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and calling for repairs. Prepare and submit reports to the ICQA Manager Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Accomplishes quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Table:
High school diploma/GED required. Associates degree in related technology field preferred. Minimum of 2 years' related warehouse/distribution setting experience required; working knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies preferred Knowledge of quality control standards preferred (ISO 9000 etc.) and familiarity with quality measurement tools preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred). Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Experience must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and the ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
