Wiring Technician (2nd Shift) Job Description Join a manufacturing team that builds high‑quality chiller and controls products ranging from 150 to 550 tons for demanding applications such as data centers. As a Wiring Technician on 2nd shift, you assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels in accordance with schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications. You perform performance testing on specific unit types, generate accurate test reports, and support quality, safety, and technical investigations to ensure every unit meets rigorous performance and reliability standards. Responsibilities Assemble and wire electrical control panels for chiller and controls products ranging from 150 to 550 tons according to electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions. Perform point‑to‑point wiring and install components such as circuit breakers, relays, power supplies, and PLCs to meet engineering and quality requirements. Route and secure wiring neatly to ensure proper function, serviceability, and compliance with safety and wiring standards. Conduct quality checks and functional testing of control panels before final installation to verify correct operation and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve wiring, component, or control issues to ensure reliable operation of chillers and associated systems. Carry out performance testing on specific unit types and provide accurate, detailed test reports that document results and findings. Read, interpret, and apply electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. Perform pressure testing, evacuation, and charging procedures as part of chiller testing requirements. Conduct refrigeration performance testing to verify system capacity, efficiency, and operational parameters. Perform electrical component testing and mechanical/electrical installations required for complete system validation. Test design temperature difference (TD) at required waterflows and pressure drops to ensure units meet specified performance criteria. Build test rigs and assist with the development and execution of test plans for new or existing products. Contribute to troubleshooting activities for electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues identified during testing or production. Participate in risk assessments and health and safety investigations to support a safe working environment. Assist Technical Support with site visits as required, including conducting customer end‑of‑line witness tests and assisting with noise tests. Support quality investigations and structured problem‑solving activities using established tools and methodologies to address internal concerns and external customer complaints. Collaborate with other departments to resolve problems identified during testing, production, or in the field, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures accurately during mechanical and electrical assembly tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and company policies during wiring, assembly, and testing activities. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience in panel wiring, electrical assembly, or a related field. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices such as tape measures for electrical and mechanical work. Knowledge of electrical codes, wiring standards, and safety procedures relevant to panel wiring and industrial equipment. Strong attention to detail with the ability to work with precision and efficiency in a production environment. Ability to perform point‑to‑point wiring and install electrical components including circuit breakers, relays, power supplies, and PLCs. Capability to troubleshoot wiring, electrical components, and control circuits to resolve issues effectively. Mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical assembly related to chillers or similar equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, and stoop for extended periods in a manufacturing environment. Comfort working in a fast‑paced production setting while maintaining quality and safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of pressure testing procedures, leak detection methods, and chiller systems. Experience with refrigeration performance testing and refrigeration systems. Experience with PLC wiring and troubleshooting (preferred but not required). Exposure to HVAC and HVAC electrical systems. EPA Universal certification or familiarity with EPA regulations related to refrigeration (preferred). Experience contributing to risk assessments and health and safety investigations. Experience building test rigs and assisting with the creation and execution of test plans. Familiarity with mechanical and electrical installations on industrial equipment. Work Environment This role is based in a large, non‑temperature‑controlled plant environment where you work on the production floor around industrial equipment and chiller systems. You can expect to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds on a non‑repetitive basis, and stoop or bend as needed to complete wiring and assembly tasks. The work involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices, as well as working around HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems. The environment is fast‑paced and production‑oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and adherence to procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grenada, MS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
