Job Description

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
With reasonable accommodation if required, and with minimal supervision, conducts quality assurance processes and laboratory testing of (security) printed products, including raw materials/paper, in-process materials and finished products.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS OF THE POSITION
Describe the principal tasks and responsibilities of the position, by order of importance. Indicate when necessary the input and/or output exchanged with other departments. . Conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure quality of the assigned product or component Operates laboratory testing equipment including tensometer, densitometer, COF tester and performs physical/chemical tests on paper/raw materials, adhesives and finished products. Applies statistical analysis including control-charting methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and changes in the process Use Quality Management system (Intelex) to input non-conformances (QNCR's) and assist with tracking and resolving CAPA's, internal/external customer complaints and other quality issues and assists other employees with Intelex issues when needed. Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities in real time to management. Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, using Quality Management system or manually, consistent with company policies and procedures. Trains Quality Assurance Inspectors and may direct their work in the absence of QA Manager or supervisor May occasionally perform basic Quality Assurance work such as visual inspection against fixed samples and templates and using ruler, calipers, micrometers, loupes, gages, etc. templates to determine if product meets specifications Assures safety/health procedures are followed at all times in the QA Lab and in their immediate work locations. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable industry standards and government codes (ISO, ANSI, ASTM, etc.). Performs other duties as required by Quality Assurance Supervisor or other management
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. S. Diploma and 4-5 years related experience and/or training; or Associates Degree (A.S. or A.A.S) and 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of other MS Office, including Excel and other quality management and manufacturing (ERP) software. Excellent visual acuity, close vision and color recognition Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
