Quality Supervisor Job Description The Quality Supervisor leads a team of Quality Inspectors to ensure every customized truck body meets internal standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements before shipment. This role oversees final inspection processes, drives continuous improvement, and partners closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality concerns and enhance overall product reliability. Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and lead a team of 5 Quality Inspectors across daily operations. Oversee final inspection processes on approximately 10-15 customized truck bodies per day prior to shipment. Ensure all products meet internal quality standards, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements. Perform and support inspections of mechanical components, electrical systems and wiring, weld quality and structural integrity, and hydraulic systems and functionality. Verify proper placement and accuracy of labels, decals, and stickers on finished units. Review inspection findings, document results, and ensure proper sign-off prior to product release. Identify defects, non-conformances, and quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions with production teams. Maintain accurate inspection documentation, reports, and quality records. Train and develop inspectors on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices. Ensure compliance with safety policies and established quality procedures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects and improving first-pass quality. Collaborate with production, engineering, and leadership to resolve quality concerns and improve processes. Essential Skills Strong knowledge of inspection and fabrication processes. Solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Proficiency using inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects quickly and accurately. Excellent communication skills to clearly convey findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Strong problem-solving abilities to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions. Proven leadership skills to supervise, coach, and develop a team of inspectors. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining high quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of hydraulics and hydraulic systems is preferred. Experience with fabrication inspection and mechanical assemblies. Work Environment This role operates in a fast-paced production environment focused on the assembly and customization of truck bodies. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, weld, and hydraulic systems, using inspection tools such as calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices. The position involves regular interaction with production, engineering, and leadership teams on the shop floor, where adherence to safety policies and quality procedures is essential. The environment requires consistent attention to detail, frequent inspections of finished units, and a strong commitment to maintaining high quality standards throughout daily operations. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Dunn, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr. After 1 year of work they get 1 week of vacation and after 2 years of work they get 2 weeks of vacation. They match up to 3% in 401k and 50% match between 3%-5%. Holidays paid off except for Veterans, Presidents, MLK, and Juneteenth.
