Summary and Objective The QC Inspector is solely responsible to the Chief Inspector while accomplishing inspections in accordance with flyExclusive General Maintenance Manual. Ensuring all assigned inspections are properly completed in compliance with established policies and procedures. Conduct receiving inspection of all components, materials, tooling, and hardware as required by the manuals and applicable FARs Inspecting and evaluating work performed by AMTs, sheet metal AMTs, and avionics technicians, ensuring compliance and rework of deficiencies is performed when required. Conduct RII inspections in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance program requirements. Review paperwork, including but not limited to, maintenance forms, parts tags, job cards, log pages and tally sheets to ensure compliance with company manual and all applicable FARs Ensuring safety procedures are followed and potential damage to customer or company property is eliminated by overseeing aircraft handling activities, including but not limited to, jacking, fueling, defueling, and towing Conduct weight and balance analysis by using approved maintenance manuals and scales. Perform additional duties as assigned.Skills and Abilities:
Thorough understanding of aircraft parts, systems, and mechanics. Thorough understanding of tools and testing methods used to ensure proper functioning of an aircraft and its parts, systems, and mechanics. Ability to read, comprehend, and adhere to manual instructions to resolve complex mechanical issues. Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination. Superior and careful workmanship. Leadership and team oriented. Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions. Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs. Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs. Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports. Work environment Typical outdoor and industrial/hangar environments. Some exposure extreme temperatures are to be expected due to travel requirements Typical business aircraft interior, tight cramped space. While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar. Possible exposure to a variety of extreme weather conditions. Exposure to loud noises including airplane machinery and jet engines Physical demands Ability to see and hear clearly Ability to read, comprehend, and speak English clearly Ability to climb, twist, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, and crawl Ability to move in tight quarters Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods Manual dexterity and physical strength are necessary to operate tools and/or make adjustments and repairs. Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects. Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of aircraft. Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders. Qualifications Required education and experience High school diploma or equivalent required Must 18 years of age or older FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required. Requires 6 + years of experience with hands-on Aircraft Maintenance Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions. Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations, IPM and ATA codes. Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.
