Battery Components North Carolina (FTBC) is seeking a Quality Technician to support manufacturing quality operations in our growing battery component production facility. This role is responsible for inspecting products and processes, assisting with quality improvement initiatives, supporting training efforts, and helping maintain compliance with quality standards throughout the plant. As a start-up operation, team members are expected to be adaptable and willing to contribute wherever needed to support business objectives and operational success. What You'll Do Conduct product inspections using visual, dimensional, and functional verification methods. Evaluate materials, components, and finished goods to ensure conformance with quality standards and specifications. Review and follow quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans. Record inspection and testing results accurately within company databases and quality systems. Work closely with production personnel to communicate quality concerns and inspection findings. Assist in identifying quality issues, determining root causes, and supporting corrective action activities. Participate in Continuous Improvement and Kaizen projects aimed at enhancing product quality and process efficiency. Recommend process or procedural improvements to reduce defects and improve consistency. Support training and development of production operators and quality inspectors on quality requirements and inspection methods. Help maintain workplace organization and cleanliness through 5S activities and audits. Perform routine audits and monitor compliance with established quality standards. Assist with calibration and maintenance of inspection and measurement equipment. Identify and communicate potential safety concerns to appropriate personnel. Required Experience & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. At least two (2) years of experience in a Quality Technician or related manufacturing quality role. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work across departments. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Experience collecting data and preparing quality-related reports. Familiarity with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, thickness gauges, microscopes, and CMM equipment. Ability to identify defects and nonconforming conditions through detailed visual inspection. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Basic proficiency with ERP systems, databases, and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Additional manufacturing quality experience in an automotive, battery, or industrial production environment. Experience supporting ISO, IATF, or similar quality management systems. Physical Demands Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to perform detailed visual inspections requiring close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
