Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
To work within a team of individuals to produce outdoor living products to meet VEKA standards. These standards enable us to provide a quality product/service to ensure our customer's satisfaction.
PRIMARY DUTIES
1. Consult with lead person / supervision on daily objectives and how to meet them. 2. Safely and confidently operate all of the equipment components associated with the fabrication department. 3. Properly identify profiles for window, door, fence and deck and accurately measure processed parts using a tape measure. 4. Capable of using required hand tools safely. 5. Be flexible and be able to move from one line to the other and perform the tasks assigned. 6. Assist in the cleaning, packaging and final assembly of finished goods. 7. Practice safety guidelines of all equipment components and hand tools. 8. Inform lead person / supervision of any quality issues. 9. Cleanliness of work station and shop area. 10. Responsible for the proper set-up and start-up of production in an efficient manner. 11. Responsible for properly preparing the QA samples on time every time. 12. Responsible for the overall housekeeping of the assigned area while on shift and assisting the Lead Tech and/or Supervisor when asked throughout the shift for any part of the FAB Shop. 13. Assist Material Handler in banding and sealing racks when needed. 14. Able to run various equipment in FAB Shop, including Automated Saws, Welders, punches and other fabrication machinery to perform job tasks.
SECONDARY DUTIES
1. Ability to perform all packer duties; use good judgment; communicate accurately & effectively both by oral & written means; courage to act; ability to work under pressure; drive & initiative; be flexible; provide accurate information all the time; timeliness; and demonstrate mechanical ability.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Mechanical Aptitude, Oral Communication, Accuracy, Able to read tape measures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Education, Previous Window and Door Fabrication experience, obtain/maintain fork truck operator's license.
