Job Description

A tobacco processing facility in Nashville, NC will be filling several positions for Quality Inspector (picker/sweeper). The positions will be full-time, seasonal. Our season normally lasts from mid-September until mid-March. The pay rate for these positions is $14.50/hr. Periodic bonus based on attendance. Job Purpose Statement Responsible for picking undesirable materials out of product, sweeping and collecting product from the floor, and proper placement of undesirable materials or product into approved, properly-labeled containers and carts. Responsible for comprehensive cleaning activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Adhere to and enforce company policies, safety procedures and good housekeeping practices Pick undesirable material/foreign matter out of product Place undesirable materials and/or product into approved containers; attach proper identification labels Empty large containers of undesirable materials and/or product into properly identified carts Clean and sweep under and around conveyor systems Perform comprehensive cleaning activities for product changes and prior to plant shutdown Record keeping as required Other duties may be assigned Job Qualification Requirements Ability to follow instructions to perform the job Adapt to frequent changes in climate, environment, workload and schedules including Saturday and Sunday work when required 30-day competency evaluation period Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
