Job Description

Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the world, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract-grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers. We do not offer or provide visa sponsorship.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Professional to lead our quality department and serve as the technical authority for our integrated production facility. This role is responsible for the end-to-end integrity of our upholstery, wallcovering, and panel fabrics, managing the complex transition from raw fiber to finished high-performance goods. You will lead a dedicated team to ensure that every yard of fabric aligns with our reputation for excellence, balancing stringent aesthetic standards with operational efficiency.
Essential Functions:
Direct and mentor the quality team, fostering a culture of precision and accountability from the lab to the shipping dock. Guarantee that all products meet or exceed industry benchmarks, including ACT Guidelines, Wyzenbeek/Martindale abrasion, ASTM E84 (wallcoverings), and rigorous colorfastness standards. Partner closely with Production Managers to diagnose root causes of defects, driving down re-work and maximizing first-quality yields. Act as the bridge between Design, Engineering, and the production floor to ensure a seamless and scalable manufacturing flow.
Safety:
Perform all duties in a safe manner following guidelines established by Valdese Weavers. Report all job-related injuries and safety hazards to the supervisor immediately. Actively participate in safety programs that identify, investigate, and correct safety hazards. Maintain all 5S standards. 7+ years in textile manufacturing, with a proven track record in an integrated facility. Deep knowledge of weaving, textile chemistry, and the physical testing requirements for contract and residential interiors. Demonstrated ability to manage people and processes in a high-stakes production environment.
