POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Quality Control Inspector - Foundations is responsible for overseeing and documenting all quality-related activities associated with foundation construction on the Nebraska major project site. The Quality Control Inspector - Foundations will support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and all project-specific quality requirements to ensure work is completed in compliance with client specifications, engineering standards, applicable codes, and regulatory requirements. This role requires hands-on experience in foundation construction, including drilled pier (drilled shaft) and helical pile systems , as well as associated civil and concrete works.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Quality Leadership & Compliance Support the implementation of the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and project-specific quality procedures. Perform and document inspections of foundation and civil construction activities, including drilled pier (drilled shaft) and helical pile installation, excavation and subgrade preparation, reinforcing steel and cage installation, anchor bolt placement and alignment checks, formwork installation, concrete placement and finishing, as well as backfill and compaction activities. Verify work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and applicable codes. Review and verify inspection reports, test results, concrete tickets, material certifications, and other quality records. Maintain inspection logs and turnover documentation. Assist with as-built documentation and project closeout requirements. Training & Documentation Management Ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted in accordance with project requirements. Monitor and maintain inspection hold points, witness points, and testing requirements. Coordinate material traceability and document control activities related to foundation construction. Support preparation and compilation of turnover packages. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement Coordinate inspections with client representatives, third-party inspectors, testing agencies, and project personnel. Work closely with construction supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to promote quality awareness and compliance. Assist with investigations of non-conformances, deficiencies, and quality incidents. Participate in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and closeout activities. Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and proactive issue resolution.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience Technical diploma, engineering technology diploma, construction management education, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 3-5 years of quality control inspection experience on industrial, civil, energy, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects. Direct experience with foundation systems, including drilled pier (drilled shaft) and helical pile installation, is required. Experience inspecting concrete foundations, structural concrete, earthworks, and related civil construction activities. Experience reviewing inspection and testing documentation, material certifications, and quality records. Familiarity with applicable construction codes, standards, and quality management systems. Experience working on major capital projects is considered a strong asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of foundation construction practices, including drilled pier and helical pile systems, concrete placement procedures, and civil construction quality requirements. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements. Strong organizational and documentation management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Effective relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, inspectors, and project teams. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project environment. Additional Details This position is field based and requires candidates to: Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract. Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. Must be available to work a project-based rotation schedule of 4 weeks on / 1 week off, working 6 days per week while on rotation. Eligible for per diem where applicable while working away from home.
Pay:
